Search Meter: a WordPress plugin

Saturday, 27 August 2005

I have released Search Meter, a new WordPress plugin that should help you keep your blog focused on what your visitors want to read. It does this by keeping track of what your visitors are searching for, and more importantly whether they are finding it.

If people search your blog and get no results, they’ll probably go elsewhere. With Search Meter, you’ll be able to find out what people are searching for and how successful these searches are. When you know what people are looking for, you can give them what they want by creating new posts on those topics. For example, you may discover that in the last week, people have searched for “pizza” on your blog but not found any posts. Armed with this knowledge, you can write a post about pizza and keep your visitors happy. What better way is there to build a loyal readership?

For details and download, see the main Search Meter page.
