London bombing brings on tighter screening

After the London bombing attacks last week, Japan’s justice ministry is planning to strengthen screening of foreigners in Japan. This will apply to both visitors and residents.

This is part of a general effort to tighten security after the London terrorist attacks. There are fears that more attacks could come in countries that are allies of the USA — like Japan.

This response is predictable; there have been similar responses in other countries, such as Australia. However, the Japanese government does not yet seem to have decided on any specific measures.
