It&#8217;s told in a series of (initially) separate narratives of different characters, but as you go through the book the narratives join up as a minor character in one story appears as the protagonist of a later story. It is evocative of the messy complexities of Life &#8212; after reading the book I actually started to draw up a schematic of the relationships between the characters.
