Rob, I did that. I didn’t have to do anything special; I just applied, and after a while I got the visa. Note that I started out on a visa-exempt entry permit, not a tourist visa.

Hi, I’am from India. I got a job in Japan & will be taking my wife with me as dependent.
She is also professionally qualified and is having a job here in India.
What is the procedure to get a work permit for her so that she can persue her career in Japan ? Is Japanese language mandatory ? Pls do reply.

I just have two question. I am currently in Japan visa-free/tourist status. I would like to stay in Japan longer. If I go to a near-by country like Korea for a few day, and then re-enter Japan, am I okay for another 90 days? My 2nd question is, I have a gaijin card already, and I have read that you are required to “give it back” upon departure without re-entry permit. Since I am planning to come back and marry my girlfriend, can I just claim I lost it? or is there some issues with me not giving it back when I leave for Korea???

Albert, in theory yes. I have heard that Japanese Immigration don’t like it if you keep doing it though. As for your gaijin card, it doesn’t sound like a good idea. If you claim it’s lost then they might well ask why you didn’t report the loss, and they will probably cancel it anyway.

Hello, I have a few questions for you regarding the work visa. It would be very helpful if you could please answer them.

I have never been out of the country and I plan on moving to Osaka in the next year. If I get a work visa do I still need a tourist visa, or does the work visa replace the tourist visa? Do I apply for the multi-entry permit at the same time as the work visa? And how long does it take to get the work visa?

    Thank you very much!

Do i need to convert to any other type of working visa to be able to teach English? or once you have one type of working visa, it allows you to engage in any job order than what’s describ? Thanks as i wait for your response.

I need an Invitation letter from anyone living in Japan who has right to live and work.

I’m planning to come and look for a job as i have more than twenty years experience with Cargo Airlines, Logistics and Courier. I somehow like Japan would like to live there and contribute in Japans economy.

    Looking forward…!
