Casio EX-word XD-470

I played with a Casio EX-word XD-470 for a little while in a shop. I was very tempted to buy it. The big selling point was handwriting recognition. You can handwrite kanji and kana on the screen using a stylus, and look up words that way. This is definitely better than trying to figure out the radical on some unusual kanji.
The accuracy of the recognition was pretty good. As you write, it displays a list of what it thinks you are trying to enter. When you see the right one you can just tap it and it will be entered.
The dictionary size on this device was significantly smaller than the Wordtanks’ dictionaries. Because of this, and the fact that it costs 15,000 yen, I decided to leave it on the shelf. For now.

I bought this myself for a little cheeper from ebay. But its very useful! I do agree on its small dictionaries, infact its not very useful for that alone, but the ability to draw in the kanji is amazing. The kanji dictionary is good, where as the english to japanese is not so good, but its a must for people who know katakana and hiragana and need to learn kanji!
