It Doesn’t Have To Be (foreign language bit)

Updated 15 May 2004

The foreign language bit is in Swahili. It could be translated as “Come stay with me, come lie with me” or possibly “I sleep with you because you are mine and I am yours.”

The following bit of Swahili (with its English equivalent) comes pretty close to the lyrics:

Lala pamoja nai mimi nyumbani yako? Sabubu nataka wewe ulalale hapa na mimi.
(Would you sleep with me at your house? Because I need you to sleep next to me.)
